What rPPG actually is
Every heartbeat pushes a small volume of blood through the vessels just under the skin of your face. Blood absorbs light differently to the tissue around it, so with each beat the colour of your skin shifts — far too little for you to notice, but not too little for a camera sensor to register frame by frame.
Klyft records those shifts across the 30-second capture, cleans up the movement and lighting noise, and reconstructs the underlying pulse waveform. Everything in the panel is derived from that one signal.
Said plainly
A pulse oximeter shines a light at your finger and reads what comes back. Klyft reads the same kind of signal without the light and without the contact — the sun or the lamp in your room is the light source, and your face is the sensor site. The signal is the same family; the precision is not, which is why Klyft reports an estimate and a clinical device reports a measurement.
That is why it needs good, even lighting and a still thirty seconds. It is also why it works best as a trend: scan under similar conditions, at a similar time, and the movement between scans is what tells you something.
